there is a very thin line between independence and loneliness is the title of the work that brings together this series of 100 photographs.

The small-scale images were captured by the artist between 2018 and 2022, during short trips and extended periods spent in the city of Lisbon, establishing an intimate visual dialogue between herself and the world around her.

In the absence of words, the artist explores loneliness and the ongoing struggle for an idealized independence - feelings often associated with the beginning of adulthood. The work adopts a feminist perspective, asserting that while the struggle for independence is deeply shaped by gender, the experience of loneliness remains a shared human condition.
